Ben started running in 2017 and quickly reralised something wasn't right on longer runs.

We asked our customers to share their personal experience with Vibram FiveFingers with 5 questions. Here's Ben's story.
1.Why do you wear Vibram FiveFingers?
After getting into running in 2017 I just remember feeling that something wasn't quite perfect on my longer runs.  I was still playing football and my ankles were a bit weak after a few serious sprains over the years. I read about barefoot running and how it can strengthen the ankles and calves.  So I got some original EVOs for that reason but realize that actually it just made running even more enjoyable.
2. What do you use them for most and how have FiveFingers made a difference?
I use them for everything.  I recently even bought some old Speeds for casual use although I must admit I have to feel brave to wear them even though I love the look.  But mainly it is for running. I have joined a running club and even did some successful cross country races in my grippy new V Treks. In 2022 I decided to run my first marathon and after a little bit of deliberation decided to do all the training and the race in my Vibram Bikilas which are a discontinued model from about a decade ago which ch I got second hand in mint condition. I had no pain or discomfort during the run and was so glad that I chose to go barefoot with the Vibrams. I also kept my toenails which was nice. I broke 3:30 and plan to go even better in Berlin this year in my new V Runs. I did a Tough Viking obstacle course in Sweden just recently, again in the Trek Ascents which are great for slippy or muddier surfaces.
3.How do you respond to people who don't understand the benefits?
I don't go all evangelical about it but I do try different techniques to encourage people to try it for themselves.  I just say how it has made my lower legs so much stronger and more stable but in the main I just say how it makes me feel. There is nothing like running through a forest in zero drops with your toes flexing free.  In fact that's the picture I've chosen here.
4.How did you discover FiveFingers?
As with a lot of barefoot runners, I read the book, Born To Run. I immediately went and purchased the EVOs which I still have and love after over 800 miles.  I now have six different pairs for different occasions and terrains.
5.What other barefoot products do you wear?
I sometimes wear flip flops if that counts, but that's about it. I am tempted to try Vivos so maybe that will be next but I'd be surprised if I get any more running pleasure than from the VFFs. Having said that I say not to knock the VFFs until you try them, so I have nothing against the other zero drop offerings out there.

Thanks
